Some visitors have noted that during peak times, the quality may occasionally slip with orders being prepared in a rush, resulting in an uneven experience. There have been reports of the occasional missed order or items not meeting the same high standards as others. While the casual atmosphere appeals to many, some guests have expressed that it could get a bit crowded, especially during lunch hours. A few have raised concerns over specific location challenges, like proximity to less favorable street issues, although that’s really just part of urban dining. Still, these are minor bumps on an otherwise smooth culinary ride.
beautiful fish excellent service close to caravan park few rough people but thats same anywhere and not there fault thanks battered and fried for your service and food!
Arguably the best around this area. They've not been without some issues, a family member placed an order to pick-up, they were markedly poor quality for sure, possibly been sitting for a while? My advice is turn up and watch them being fried, can't go wrong then.
We were staying at the Durham Grange Caravan and Motorhome Club site, decided the chip shop was the nearest place to walk to, and was it worth it? Well and truly yes! Fish and chips were absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection! Has to be the best we've had in a long time. Well recommended 😃
This place was recommended, I will never go anywhere else for my Fish and Chips. The cod was so fresh and white, coated in light golden batter. The chips were equally as fresh, crisp and golden. Freshly cooked and still hot when I got home, 10 minutes away. The staff were polite and friendly. Delicious 😋
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Battered & Fried – A Proper Chippy Gem!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Without a doubt, the best Fish & Chips I’ve had in the last few years. From the first bite, it was clear these folks know exactly what they’re doing. ⭐️ The chips were absolutely perfect – golden, crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, just how they should be. The 5oz fish was spot on – a lovely, fresh piece of cod, flaky and white, falling into chunks the moment my fork touched it. You could tell it was top quality. ⭐️ The batter was a standout – light, crisp, and just the right thickness, with no greasy residue like you find at far too many other places these days. To top it all off, the staff were incredibly friendly, cheerful, and more than happy to help with anything – which just made the experience even better. Highly recommend – this place is a cut above the rest. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rang ahead and ordered for collection Small cod and chips £5.60 excellent value. Food was freshly cooked and tasted good. These have recently been awarded County Durham fish shop of the year. 5* Food hygiene aswell which is a must when serving food.
I ordered a standard cod & chips. They were delicious, except for the price...£13.40. Fish & chips used to be a cheap meal, but are now becoming too expensive, especially at £13.40.
The 8oz cod fish served with golden, crispy chips is a highlight. The light, crisp batter makes every bite memorable. Add some tasty gravy or curry sauce for an extra kick.
